Midnight Reflections

So the consensus seems to be that you guys like the time lapse videos and want to see more. Whoever ‘150one‘ is on YouTube kind of missed the point [see screen shot below] and I’m sorry to disappoint, but there certainly will not be more time-lapse videos of me or my legs. In fact, I made extra sure to keep my body out of all future videos as much as possible. Not gonna lie, this message did make me laugh though.

Anyways, back to the point here. So enjoy the time-lapse video of how I painted this painting, all in 2.5 minutes.

I managed to keep my legs out of this one, but at the expense of my hair…somehow it ended up all over the place. Lesson learned though, next time hair goes in a ponytail. I specifically remember having a good hair day when I was painting this and didn’t want to have that annoying crease from an elastic band left in my hair so I just left it down. First world girl problems.

Hope you enjoyed that. And here are a few more shots of the painting.

Hope you guys enjoyed the time-lapse video.

This painting is now SOLD however my other available paintings can be seen in my online store here.Β

Also, I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since I started this blog. October 12 marks my one-year blogiversary. I will be making cake to celebrate. Who’s joining me?

I guess you removed the video? That comment from the YT user is creepy. Totally inappropriate and shows me that nothing has changed over there. I said goodbye to YT at least two years ago because of creeps and haters.

Yeah, the internet is full of creeps unfortunately. I didn’t take down the video though since it’s the only way I can put it on my blog (too large to upload it directly) and the video is in no way inappropriate itself so I’m not going to let one creep ruin it for me. I wish I could make my YouTube account private and still be able to embed the videos onto the blog… Oh well, such is life.

Really enjoyed this Agata. Beautiful painting. I couldn’t tell, but do you use any kind of pencil marks/charcoal before you paint the lady? Or do you paint it all completely freehand? Because that is amazing! I am really struggling with this at the moment.

Shame about undesirable comments. There’s always a possiblity to disable comments on YouTube, I believe. Perhaps an option?

Anyway, thanks again for the inspiration, I’m learning a lot from you πŸ™‚

      Hi Marija,
I’m glad you enjoyed the video and painting. And yes, I did draw the outline of the lady in pencil. Sometimes I use chalk too. It’s not in the video because I usually lay it down on the ground when I draw stuff and that’s just too tricky to film.

It was actually a private message that he sent me and not a comment and I don’t think I can block users unfortunately. I played around with the settings hoping to find some better privacy settings but no such luck. Maybe one day YouTube will fix that (hopefully!).

And I’m so glad you’re learning from me. That honestly warms my heart. Keep it up πŸ™‚

Hi again Agata, that’s kind of heartening for me to know that you draw your outlines. I’m going back to basics and learning to draw (just wrote a post about it now!) and my Santorini picture is nearly done but it’s stalled… (like most of my stuff!).

What a pity the privacy settings aren’t better. I guess it’s one of the downsides to sharing your creativity online πŸ™ But no doubt there are lots of people learning about painting from watching you make your wonderful paintings.

        Best wishes to you πŸ™‚

This is beautiful! πŸ™‚ There’s that rain again! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the colors you use. Just lovely!
I have a funny story… I was scrolling through my reader and wondering as I have a few times before, why I’ve NEVER seen your posts show up there, meaning I always had to type your page into the browser. I JUST NOW realized, I think I somehow subscribed through email instead of wordpress!

I don’t know what it is with me and my readers — just when I think of visiting them, they come make it easier to hop over. I love all your work! And I certainly don’t feel that about all artists. I wanted to point out that since its inception, the Art post of mine that bears your work climbed my Top 10 – currently Top 3 – and so your work and blog have had ongoing exposure from there.
