I sure have been neglecting this poor old blog of mine lately even though I have quite a few paintings that I’ve completed. So here we go!
For someone who knows and cares very little about cars, I sure do paint a lot of them. Here is the newest addition to the collection, which was done as a commissioned piece.
Some step-by-step progress pictures.
Something I often struggle with is knowing when a painting is done. It’s so easy to get carried away and end up overdoing it. This painting is a good example of that. If you look at the second last progress picture and the final one, you’ll notice I had to “undo” a lot of what I painted. Live and learn 🙂
And the finished product:
And here I am with the finished painting.
This painting was a commissioned piece therefore it is already sold, however prints, up to 18″x12″ are available for sale here.
I recently started yet another commissioned car painting, and this one is huge!! 48″x36″!!! I can’t wait to finish this one and share it with you all. Like my Facebook page to see progress pictures.
There are three surefire ways to make someone feel extra special on their birthday, and that is a fact!
1. Be there.
How can you tell them how special they are to you if you are not there for their birthday? My parents live almost 700km away so usually a phone call and a snail mail card (eons better than a Facebook happy birthday wish) has to do the trick, but this year, luckily, Easter was around the time of my dad’s and brother’s birthdays so I had an extra long weekend and was able to make the trek down to see them. Bonus points for me.
2. Bake a cake.
Sweets are the secret to anyone’s heart, and that is also a fact. If someone tells you they do not like sweets, they are a lying liar who lies so make them cake anyways. Fortunately, my dad loves anything sweet. A couple of years ago, I made him this cake. It was supposed to be a sexy red sports car. Major fail. However, the old man mobile that it looks like is probably more age appropriate anyways. Just kidding dad. You are only as old as you feel and we all know you feel like a 22-year-old.
