I’ve been a little absent from this blog but now I hope to be back to a regular posting schedule. I’ve got big plans for this website coming in the next few months, including ways fellow artists can get involved so stay tuned 🙂 It will be the best art website you’ve ever seen. Promise.
Adjusting to having a ‘real job’ has been new to me after all these years of the student life. I don’t love waking up to an alarm every morning but I certainly do love having evenings and weekends to do as I please.
The painting below is a commissioned one that I began back when I was still living the dream as a student at Ottawa U. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift from the man in the picture to his wife, but then turned into a Valentine’s Day gift. It’s nice and huge and therefore took a solid chuck of time to paint. But that’s okay, because bigger is better.
So the consensus seems to be that you guys like the time lapse videos and want to see more. Whoever ‘150one‘ is on YouTube kind of missed the point [see screen shot below] and I’m sorry to disappoint, but there certainly will not be more time-lapse videos of me or my legs. In fact, I made extra sure to keep my body out of all future videos as much as possible. Not gonna lie, this message did make me laugh though.
Anyways, back to the point here. So enjoy the time-lapse video of how I painted this painting, all in 2.5 minutes.
I managed to keep my legs out of this one, but at the expense of my hair…somehow it ended up all over the place. Lesson learned though, next time hair goes in a ponytail. I specifically remember having a good hair day when I was painting this and didn’t want to have that annoying crease from an elastic band left in my hair so I just left it down. First world girl problems.
Hope you enjoyed that. And here are a few more shots of the painting.
And a side view.
Hope you guys enjoyed the time-lapse video.
This painting is now SOLD however my other available paintings can be seen in my online store here.
Also, I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since I started this blog. October 12 marks my one-year blogiversary. I will be making cake to celebrate. Who’s joining me?
